Is Cancer In Our Genes?
August 6, 2001

God's masterpiece:

The origin of mankind began thousands of years ago; it began at the bank of a river. It was by the bank of that river God scooped up wet clay onto a heap and made from it, man. It was there that He carefully formed and created a masterpiece that was superior to everything else that was upon the face of the earth. To cap it all, "He blew into his nostril and man became a living soul." It is so stated in the book of Genesis. "And God said, let us make man in our own image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." Genesis 1: 26.

As God the Father decreed, so it was done; His trusted Son carried out His wishes. No other creature on land or in the water had this extra special treatment; only man was treated in such a manner. This is some thing for all of us as human to ponder, why did God did that? Every thing else that God had made in this world was pleasing to Him, yet He was not satisfied. The birds, the bees, the creatures of the deep, the beast of the field were not able to satisfy His needs. It was not until after He had made man, with whom He could communicate, that He was able to rest.

"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." Genesis 1: 27-29.

Except for a few isolated instances, humans are so afraid of the beast and creatures that The Lord God gave us dominion over thousands of years ago. You do not have to leave you house to see the tremendous change that has taken place since that day by the bank of the river that was called pure clay. Take a look in your mirror. Take a look at your self! Are you free from all those implements that are plaguing the world today? Do you have a twenty, twenty vision? Have you ever had a common cold? What kind of diet do you partake of when you have your daily meal? What do you put in your body from day to day? Can you truly say that you have love in you heart towards all your fellowmen? What happen since that week of creation? "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." Romans 5: 12. Because of sin, death has entered in this world; it has in many different ways. Diseases of all sorts are running rampant like wild fire on a hot windy summer night. Scientist is desperately trying to come up with cures to some of these deadly plagues. So far they have not gain the upper hand.

I had first hand encounters with one of these plagues; this one is cancer. I watched my own daughter pine away on her bed; that was after the hospital and her doctors gave up on her and sent her home to die. I saw what it did to my brother. He was a giant of a man, who seemed invincible they called him (Jack.) He was muscular and strong. He was full of vigor and vivacity; but he wasted away and died. I have seen and I have listen to our father groaned in agony from the result of the pain that comes through the legacy of cancer. That has me on my toes ever since he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer. It put chills in me each time I think that there is a chance that I could be effected also. I have made call upon calls to relatives and acquaintances who are near or far away, who are fighting this deadly thing called cancer. I have been trying to do the little I can to console them, to put a smile in their hearts if you will.

It has been a little over four years since I traveled to London, I did so, so that I could spend some time with our eldest sister Evanderlyn after she had her surgery. They had surgically removed all trace of the cancer, and they were confident that the treatments she had received afterwards were successful. She was doing fine, trying the best she know how to eat right; just to be on the safe side. My wife and I never cease praying for her and I know that other members of our family were praying for her also. I have seen first hand just how deadly the reoccurrence of cancer can be if it is not detected on time. It happened to our dad and my daughter, I am sure that many people will nod their heads and agree with me that this thing is deadly.

Tiny pebbles:

My sister Evanderlyn and her husband Daniel had made plans to visit us here in the United States on the ending of July 2001. However two weeks before their departure to Dallas Texas, she went for a routine checkup. Low and behold it was there! Tiny pebbles. Tiny pebbles showed up on the x-ray. How big of an uproar can tiny pebbles cause? HUGE! This news sends every one crumbling and running around daze for while. How could this happen when we trust and believe in God? "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." ST Mark 9: 23, 24. That is where the obstacle to totality lay, in the chamber of doubting. We do believe that Jesus is alive and He cares for us, but our faith in Him is weak. I do believe also that after sin entered in to the world, these plagues have to remain until death is totally eradicated from this earth. We have to excise faith in Jesus Christ know that He is the only one who can make everything well again. While we are waiting on Him to do so, we will suffer tribulations. We will overcome some these tribulations; some we will have not live with until the Lord takes the breath away from our body.

When we were first created, cancer, or any other diseases were not in our gene. We were created pure; we knew nothing about evil. We had no idea what pain, sorrow, or death was; it was not until we tasted of the fruit of sin, that all these things started happening to us. I have been slowly getting to the place where my words are not too far away from what I believe. I am persuaded that our heavenly Father knows what is best for us. Believing that if we strive to serve Him through the power of His Holy Spirit, then His will for us will indeed be accepted with open arms. Imagine, just a little speck of sin in our lives will cause our body to be impure. Sin dwells and strives where impurity abounds and this world is drinking from the fountain of impurity. What can we do to free ourselves from all of these plagues that are causing pain and death? Nothing! Because of the result of sin, death is a sure thing. "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Hebrews 9: 27.

As long as there is someone out there who have not heard the three angel’s messages. As long as Christ delay His coming so that those people can receive the word, then for sure there will be plagues and death.

Sister Evanderlyn is doing okay, in that she has rested her hope in the Lord; believing that His will is best for her. The doctors removed those pebbles and she is recuperating. She is uttering thanksgiving to the Savior for interceding on her behalf in such a way. She could have came here to the United States and stayed a month, as planned only to realize after returning home what was going on. Jesus never fails; He is always on time, every time! Sister Val is also looking forward to living a long life; and I do not see any thing wrong with that. It is so reassuring to a child of God, knowing that the Savior knows the way through the wilderness.

If cancer is in our family genes, well ours is not the first and only family to be plagued by some unwelcome disease. Each day as you lift you heart in prayer to the Father, for those who are close to you, please, do not forget to pray also for those whom you do not know. May I encourage you to continue to send your petition to the storehouse above, send them on behalf of all those who needs prayer. As long as our Heavenly Father is sitting on His throne, as long as Jesus is pleading for sinners, there is hope. The most important thing that anyone can do, impediments or not, is to keep our eyes and our hearts focus on our soon coming King. Over looking the great sacrifices He made on our behalf, by coming here from Glory and dying at Calvary, is a grave mistake to make.

The partway to heaven is through the arch. This arch is the body of Christ; it is through Him that sin will be eradicated forever! I am looking forward with a million of pebbles of excitement jumping around in my feeble heart. I am hoping that one day I will Behold Jesus; I will behold Him as my Savior and Lord. I am looking forward to a world where death drums will cease to beat, and from one Sabbath to another, I will worship at our redeemer’s feet. I am longing for the change to come, where I will be able to feel the way Adam felt before he felt the stings of sin and death. What are your plans for the feature? Where are you heading? I pray that you and I will be among those who will be looking up towards the heaven without fair, looking up and absorbing the brightness coming down from Glory. Don’t this make you get more excited just thinking of the Second Coming of our Savior and our King?
